A Top Ten Worst Raw Ever

Well I wanted to write a piece about the awesome New Japan show Wrestle Kingdom 9 before addressing Raw, but it was so bad I have to write this strictly about Raw so no one confuses the greatest of that show with the shit show that was Raw.

The show opened with that HHH promo.  I have a big issue with the BS weak way Cena was acting.  He behaves so weak and acts like he has no fight back.  I think about what other top guys would do in that spot and it's not act that way.

I hate when they no sell the entire locker room.  It's been a while since they have done it, but I didn't miss it.  That basically means that they bring out the entire locker room and big time them.  In the eyes of everyone the entire roster heel or face looks really weak and we are all forced to wonder why should we care about any of their angles.

Taking the belt off Ziggler was awful.  Everything they put behind him was just wiped away.  I know others will say he will fight on, but I think taking the belt off him takes away from what he has done big time.  Also the extra fall was just yet another way to make this poor guy look bad to the benefit of no one.  Barrett doesn't impress me as an Authority goon.  The Authority has barely been able to elevate Rollins, so I hope they steer clear of using him as a henchman going forward.

Big Show Reigns was a snoozer.  Reigns is supposed to win the title at Mania.  He seems to not care about the Authority and is just going with the flow.  There is no way this guy can win the belt at Mania.  He's not doing anything about the biggest heel faction in the company just yelling and punching.  This doesn't do him any favors.

Rowan and Harper...who cares?  Neither guy is good alone.  This whole thing will make less sense when they reform the Family with Bray.

I did not watch Bray and Ambrose.  I'm sure it was a good match, but I'm totally burned out on this feud and the way it was handled.  Glad Bray won in the end.  Ambrose can be rebuilt, but Bray is on life support.

The USO's and Naomi versus Miz and Fox was good booking. It's the type of match WWE needs to have more of on RAW.  It extends the angle causes doubt, shows off Mizdow who is popular and has some good time filling action.  This is productive and I liked it.

Rybak versus Rollins and Kane.  Ok so we continue with this bury the guys that helped Cena stuff.  Rybak actually gets made to look really good, but Rollins who is in the title match now, doesn't.  How is he supposed to get past Cena and Lesnar if he can't even win a handicap match with ease?  This match did him no favors.

It only took a few weeks for New Day to start coming out to no fan reaction.  Poor guys.  This is all on the WWE.  I loved the surprise attack by Kidd and Cesaro.  I thought it was Goldust and Stardust.  I get really excited when something fresh actually happens.  Although I feel WWE will be disappointed by fan reaction and not do much here.  That's just par for the course.  People aren't excited by faces they don't care about getting surprise attacked.  What a shocker.

The close of the show was so weak I don't know where to start.  Would the Rock, Stone Cold, or Undertaker just stand there while the Authority mocked them?  Yet, John Cena just stood there like he was helpless.  Cena has been poorly booked in this Authority angle since day one, but this just adds too it.

The crowd was dead for this.  No one believes those guys are fired and why would they.  If the Authority can come back why won't they?  So why get all upset.  That was about what I expected in the way that the Authority would want to look strong in their first night back and no Sting.  The WWE is getting famous for it's slow burn story telling.  It's just too bad they hardly payoff.

I want to point out that HHH and Steph, and Vince perhaps, probably believe that this achieved major heat for the Authority, but I argue and the slumping ratings support that it doesn't.  Instead it inspires the wrong kind of hate that turns people off to the product.  HHH and the Authority are stale, the angle is stale, and people are sick of the same old same old routine.  It just goes to show when the disjointed directionless shows of the past few weeks were actually better than that.

I honestly can say that's the worst RAW I've seen in the past few years.  I would say top five worst for me.  WWE needs to start embracing logic.  Why would John Cena allow himself to look that bad, where was Reigns to stand up to the Authority, and where was Daniel Bryan to do the same?  Makes all three guys look bad at the expense of two non-wrestling talents.

If this is all just a setup to bring Sting back next week then great and it will probably pop the card hard for him, but he's part time.  The damage done to Rowan, Ziggler, and Rybak is lasting. Sting is only there for a few appearances.  WWE is hurting regular talent to further the heat of a guy they signed to appear six times.

Until next time.
